I graduated in International Relations at the Catholic University of Brasília in December 2014; I received a full scholarship in August 2010 through the government’s program ProUni. Related to my activities at the university, I was a monitor to students in diplomacy classes, which consisted of assisting the students and the professor in and out of classes, which were taught in English. At the end of my degree, I developed my final project research on cyberspace related issues, which I wrote in English.
I have worked as an English teacher at a language school for more than four years, thus, improving both my oral and written English skills. I taught English to adults and children from different ability levels and age ranges whose first language is Portuguese. I planned specific classes according to the school’s range of textbooks. The content of lessons varied depending on the book the students were studying. Also I continuously evaluated the students based on their development throughout the semester. My main responsibilities as an English teacher were helping students understand, speak, write and read English. My duties included planning classes, classroom management, organizing and delivering classes to students, marking and providing feedback on oral and written work, maintaining accurate student attendance records and grades, attending and contributing to training sessions and tutoring students on an individual basis. All which demanded having good communication skills in both Portuguese and English and abilities such as fast decision-making, management, creativity and planning.
I was also a part time intern in the International Relations Office at the Brazilian Space Agency for one year assisting and supporting with tasks related to international cooperation and other several general administrative management ones.
